TOPPLASTIC is the cutting-edge software solution of I.C.S. aimed at formulating new color masterbatch and correcting batches for the industrial plastic manufacturer. The predictive capability of TOPPLASTIC takes advantage from the two-fluxes and single-constant Kubelka-Munk theory, which accurately models the interaction of light with the plastic melt. A proper Saunderson correction is yielded through the adopted physical modelling in order to improve the accuracy of outcomes.The polymer substance of masterbatch and the neutral base (vehicle) are considered to be always present in the opaque plastic melt (colored masterbatch).

The optical characterization of each pigment in terms of scattering and absorption coefficients is assessed through the preparation of a minimal set of lab trials: 5 let-downs for each pigment (mixed with TiO2/Black and vehicle) are physically prepared.

Recipes with known concentration can be input in the software for the optical characterization of pigments. This original feature lets TOPPLASTIC yield up to 90% of recipes right at first time (self-learning capability). First shot matches streamline the color process and finally boot up the company productivity.

TOPPLASTIC finds its main applications in the industrial production of moulded parts, polymeric panels, synthetic fibres, profiles and pipes.. It can communicate with those spectrophotometers commonly utilised in dyelab for color estimation. Thanks to its user-friendly design, TOPPLASTIC can be fruitfully utilized by non-skilled users.
